Welcome

We're delighted to introduce Jurassic Glamping, a small-scale, family orientated, luxury campsite on our smallholding in East Devon. With exceptional views over the Axe valley, you can enjoy a stay in one of our six large safari-style tents, each equipped with all the luxuries you would expect as part of a true glamping experience. Being only 10 minutes from the spectacular Jurassic Coastline we are ideally located for exploring the wonderful beaches, seaside towns and countryside of East Devon. At Jurassic Glamping we've created a luxurious yet laid back glamping site, somewhere low-key, quiet and child-friendly, where you can bring your dog and cook on an open fire in the evening.

We are also a great option if you want to get together with a large group of family or friends and celebrate a special occasion as the site is available for exclusive use hire. In addition to the 6 safari tents which sleep a maximum of 33 people we have a covered group eating area with a large BBQ. Stag and hen parties are welcome when hiring the whole site. Jurassic Glamping - Site Layout

Our Site

Our long-term vision for the farm is to greatly improve the biodiversity of the whole site by turning the paddocks into new woodland. In 2017 in collaboration with The Woodland Trust we planted 2,700 new native broad-leaf trees. This will join up two existing areas of woodland on either side of the farm and eventually create a much larger continuous habitat for the badgers, deer, foxes, rabbits, woodpeckers, owls, buzzards and countless other bird species which live in and around the site. The camping fields total around 10 acres so there's lots of space to wander around and enjoy. In addition to the six tents there is a small children's play area and a new honesty shop and laundry for guests to use.

Our Location - The Coast

They say location is everything and we couldn't agree more. We are perfectly situated so you can explore the spectacular World Heritage Jurassic Coast of Dorset and Devon. Charmouth Beach with its excellent Heritage Coast Centre is only 10 minutes away as is the delightful seaside town and calm swimming beach of Lyme Regis, famous as the home of Mary Anning, fossil hunter extraordinaire of the 19th century. You can take a mackerel fishing trip from the harbour at Lyme and hire kayaks and paddle boards. The heavenly little fishing village of Beer is only a short drive away too. If walking is your thing, then the South West Coastal Path is a must, with lots of great seaside pubs dotted every few miles.

Our Location - The Countryside

In addition to all of the wonderful coastal attractions there are many great places to visit inland. The small market town of Axminster is only just over a mile from our site so is easily walkable down the bridle path which runs down the side of the property. Market day is Thursday where you can buy many tasty treats and there are lots of lovely cafes such as The West Country Higgler and the fabulous Community Waffle House in the marketplace which is open all day (Tue - Sat) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The River Cottage HQ is only a couple of miles away and runs a variety of courses throughout the year.

The nearby town of Bridport is a hub for artists and has many galleries and exhibitions as well as lots of wonderful shops and cafes, a perfect place to spend an afternoon. Also well worth a visit is Forde Abbey, a stunning 900 year old former monastery with extensive gardens which is only 15 minutes away. At Seaton you can take a ride on the Tramway from the coast up to the wetlands nature reserve and for the kids there is the brilliant Seaton Jurassic interactive museum and the Pecorama miniature railway in Beer.
